I’m not gone, I’m just rolling on
I’m just rolling on past the slower trucks, and past loves
Rolling on beyond the regrets, towards new sunsets
I’m just rolling on, putting miles between my trials
Measuring miles by the gallon; I’m not gone, I’m just rolling on
I’m not gone, I’m always almost there; it just past the nowhere, right before somewhere. I’m not gone, I’m just rolling on past the empty eyes, finding depth in the changing skies
I can’t right the wrong, but I’m ‘steeling’ my strength to remain strong
I’m not gone, I’m just rolling on
Rolling on towards my mountain home, or at the river’s bend, at home in the valley, the meadow or the glen; my home is wherever I’ve been…I’m not gone, I’m just rolling on.
Leaving the past like it was yesterday, traveling into my future, which always lingers in the next today. I’m never there yet, but I passed many things I forget. Seems just when I’m about there; it turns out to be another here, I’m not gone, I’m just rolling on
