OH MY!

Spelunking the Cave Mine of My Mind
(Looking for gems or at least, something useful)
By
Captain O. B. Obvious

You may as well, try hanging water on the wall to create a mirror, as to believe that anyone in the Obama administration has a clue about turning around our economy. The Democratic Party has already spent their entire academic brilliance, turning it from weak to worse!

The Obama administration’s economic policy is like a 650lb man sitting in a rocking chair; there is some movement happening, but he ain’t going nowhere! Meanwhile, capital investors - as the neighbors, are placing bets as to when the chair collapses!

People are still telling that me that Obama is brilliant. I might give it a second thought, if the same people, didn’t tell me they believe in Darwinian Evolution! (Can anyone say Chris Matthews?) President Obama is to economics as Charles Darwin is to science: WRONG!

I try to spend the requisite amount of time in reality each month, but I am always anxious to get back to you!

Learning from your mistakes is good, but learning from other’s mistakes is even better and less costly!

Personal flaws are exposed and easily seen, better qualities require the patience to look closer and see deeper.

If you’re known for streaming expletives you are losing options for emphasis

Y'all are Capitalists!

All American College & University Students Are Captialists
Part One

Hang on dear comrades, I know I have some explaining to do for the ‘Che’ loving young Marxists attending our honorable schools of higher ‘for profit’ learning on their parent's borrowed money. As a FREE gesture, I will provide a little economic education that a tenured, with great benefits, salaried, liberal/progressive/socialist/wrong professor will not disclose. Hypocritically spewing Bovine Schenectady, he/she impregnate our young’s malleable gray matter. However, they cannot overcome the fact; the capitalist teat, from which they are nursing, is the means to provide their living while they teach this nonsense! How the status of their 401K is, would be one of my first questions when receiving their syllabus.

All economies are based on exchange. Labor, goods or services are exchanged for currency or its equivalent in labor, goods or services. This was true in ‘barter’ systems, including indentured servitude, or the ‘modern’ fiat currency systems in place today.

At some point, between the parties and the books, students need to ask why they are going to school. Is it simply mind expansion, by acquiring knowledge, or is it to choose a field of interest, in which, they wish to specialize and be gainfully employed? To bring peace to the world or make it greener, safer and better doesn’t necessarily require expensive schooling; from what I’ve heard, that can be accomplished through Beauty Pageants or an Obama administration. (Let a teenage girl read aloud one of his speeches to confirm the similarities) Do not let current events be deceiving, after all, he will tell you himself; it’s not his fault! Of course, you would have to believe that he did not choose to seek an office beyond his capabilities! Oh, by the way, I am a big fan of swimsuits and high heels.

I am going to assume that the interests are mixed; desiring knowledge and specialization. If so, students become conflicted between honorable intentions and education. The ‘smart ones’ come to understand that hard work and specialization are still rewarded, even in our choked-down capitalist economy. Nevertheless, they will be made to feel so ‘bourgeois’ for seeking unequal results. Many of their liberal friends and of course, the faculty will teach that it is not right for one to profit while others suffer. Shame on those for working harder! If progressive professors had their logical end, everyone would graduate with a 2.6 GPA (if any grade at all) regardless of effort and specialization would be chosen by committee based on the country’s needs. (See Soviet History on how one became a musician, doctor, rocket scientist or plumber)

Therefore, in order for a young Jedi, in our country, to get an education towards a successful career and life, he/she must decide between contrasting paths. One is their own unique hard work, personal responsibility and self discipline with unavoidable variations in results. The other alternative is laziness defined and encouraged today as inequality, disparity, and oppression. Progressives who advanced as the politically privileged, with their flawed perspectives, into government policy wonks, errantly hope redistribution will provide ‘social justice’ by living off the revenue of progressive taxation of the rich (defined as $250k); who worked hard in college and applied their unique talents to earn that level of income!

The economics of degree offering institutions is as follows: Tuition + hard work of individual study and applied intelligence are exchanged for the currency/capital of credits + GPA. This is individual wealth building. Even on campus, it is criminal to try to take wealth one has not earned. (See policies regarding cheating) When one has built sufficient wealth (hopefully) in 4 yrs, they are ready to pass their examinations to receive their ‘earned’ degree.

I believe most of you will attempt to spend your parent’s money well, with gratitude. I also believe, that in spite of Marxism’s complete misunderstanding of human nature, you will choose to work hard. Inevitably, the results of your graduating class will be as unequal as every prior graduating class. So, regardless of the progressive professor’s falsely repugnant term; merely attending his/her class, to broaden your knowledge, makes you a capitalist. Not to worry; their salaried teaching of the class, also makes them one!

Truckers Tips

Trucker’s Tip / Inside Info: Headlights

Low beam headlights provide 250’ of visibility. High beams increase the visibility to 500’. New Halogen lights increase that distance by approximately 30% at both low and high beam levels. This is why newer cars always appear to have their ‘bright lights’ on. As a trucker…Thanks a lot; now I can go blind without stupidity or ill-intent of on-coming cars!

Many (but not all) states require headlights to be on when windshield wipers are in use. It is my opinion that this should be mandatory. I know you have been angered by the spray coming off our trucks when you pass us in the rain, even if it’s just drizzling. It makes it difficult for you to see during a critical period. Well, you should know that without your lights on, you also disappear from our view.

I wish everyone would understand that not having your lights on, is not saving energy or helping the planet. As a matter of fact, it requires a lot of energy to dispose of a totaled car!
I have been in thick fog; snow caused ‘white-out’ conditions and absolutely pouring rain with several cars not using their headlights. It doesn’t make sense! It’s not that, in some lesser conditions, your headlights increase your ability to see farther; it is that your headlights increase the ability to be seen from farther away!

The distance from which you can be seen is absolutely critical around big trucks. Large blocks of time and distance are required to complete or stop a maneuver. None of us, especially truckers, like to hear of tragic pile-ups in snow or fog. At the same time, it trips my anger to come up behind someone in foul weather without their lights on. Tail-lights are even smaller and must be on to be seen.

I think the same recycle bin that is holding common sense has also grabbed hold of courtesy. It doesn’t take much and even a little is greatly appreciated. If you want to share some of my experience; simply put your face at eye-level about 3’ in front of your car and turn your high beams on. I have 160 square inches of mirror sitting 3’ off my left shoulder and get to see retina searing spots every time a car passes with his/her bright lights on.  If I’m lucky there is not a car in front of me for next 500’ to 1000’ feet before I can see clearly again.

For my friends under 50

Progressive politicians know that revisionist US History has been taught in our public school systems for the past 40 yrs. They are also fully aware that, by a large majority, academic leadership, in our colleges and universities, is fully aligned with the liberal/progressive philosophy.  By clever support and cover provided by omission, the larger percentage of media outlets and ‘journalists’ allow them to say and propose greater, empirically proven, destructive policies relatively unchallenged. It is not the debate that is waking up America. IT IS THE RESULTS!

President Obama’s “Hope and Change” was marketed as new. However, that was not the case, as can be clearly seen now.  It is the same progressive dribble that has been repeated to our detriment since the early 1900’s.  If you need a sneak preview into its absolute results, read or watch any current news story about Britain or Europe.

2013 will mark the 100th anniversary of two well known progressive policies.  First, was the passing of the 16th Amendment, which started the modern day income tax.  Second, was the creation of the Federal Reserve.  Neither, of course, was marketed as solutions that would create many more problems. They both were touted as equitable answers to minimizing disparity. The income tax passed to ‘make the rich pay a fair share’. The Federal Reserve created so the economy would not experience recessions or depressions.

One should note that in 1913 the actual “Rich” started at $20,000.00 per year.  99% of the population was below that income level.

Following is a link and excerpt, as well as, a tax history PDF. Please draw your own conclusion.
Mine is: “When someone wants to go after the ‘rich’ you need to hang on to your wallet.”

CAROL COCHRANE, CPA CMA
The 20th century began with the continuation of high tariffs and excise taxes. Many people became concerned that these taxes fell disproportionately on the less affluent. Citizens discussed many different tax plans to remedy the situation. Congressmen from agricultural areas proposed reinstating an income tax in order to circumvent a federal property tax that would devastate their land-rich constituents.
In October 1913, Congress passed the income tax law after 36 states ratified the 16th Amendment to the Constitution. Initial rates ranged from 1-7 percent. The top rate of 7 percent applied to those with income in excess of $500,000. Over 99 percent of the population did not owe any tax under the formulas of the original income tax act. Many citizens who were not subject to the tax, chose to voluntarily pay 1 percent of their income to the federal government, believing it to be their patriotic duty.
Prior to the passage of the 16th Amendment, citizens conducted their financial affairs with little or no interaction with government agencies. Now the government had the legal right—and need—to know all details of economic events for each citizen. To protect the taxpayer’s privacy, 1916 saw Congress pass a bill requiring that tax returns be kept confidential.
The relatively low rates charged for the income tax came to an abrupt end with the United States’ entry into World War I. The 1916 Revenue Act effectively doubled the tax rates and added a 15 percent rate on income in excess of $1.5 million. It also levied taxes on estates and excess business profits. The following year saw another Revenue Act pass. The Act of 1917 included a 16 percent rate to taxpayers who earned $40,000. Additionally, the individual who made in excess of $1.5 million went from owing 15 percent to owing 67 percent. Yet more increases occurred the following year. The Revenue Act of 1918 raised the bottom rate from 2 percent to 4 percent and the top rate escalated to 77 percent. The federal government’s tax revenue increased from $761 million in 1916 to $3.6 billion in 1918. The percent of the population paying the income tax increased from 1 percent of the population in 1913 to 5 percent of the populace in 1918.
The Roaring Twenties saw increasing revenues for the federal government from the income tax. Congress responded to the surplus by cutting the rates five times during this period. Ultimately they returned the bottom rate to the 1 percent level originally levied in 1913 and reduced the top rate to 25 percent. As the rates lowered, the economy continued to improve.
The stock market crashed in October 1929, which resulted in lower government tax receipts. To combat the loss, Congress passed and the President signed the Tax Act of 1932. This act dramatically increased tax rates from the 1.5 percent at $4,000 and 25 percent at $100,000 for the top rate to 4 percent at $4,000, 56 percent at $100,000, to a top rate of 63 percent at $1 million.
Not content with the revenues from this act, President Franklin D. Roosevelt increased tax rates yet again. He also added new taxes to further his progressive belief that the federal government should redistribute wealth. The Social Security Act became law in 1935. Not only did this act provide aid to the aged, needy, handicapped and certain minors, it established payments through unemployment compensation, for workers who lost their jobs. Funds to provide these benefits came from a 2 percent tax on employee’s earnings. Half came directly from the employer and the other half from the worker. This 2 percent tax applied to the worker’s first $3,000 of wages earned. The Revenue Act of 1936 established the lowest income tax rate at 4 percent and the top rate at 79 percent.
By the end of Roosevelt’s presidency, he had succeeded in fundamentally altering the nature of the income tax. His reduction of exemption levels resulted in increasing the number of income tax payers from 4 million in 1939 to 43 million in 1945.  He effectively changed the income tax’s original goal of having only the richest citizens or corporations pay income tax, to that of having most wage earners pay a large portion of their earned income to the federal government. Citizens who made $500 were now subject to the bottom tax rate of 23 percent. Rates ranged from 23 percent at the low end to 94 percent on taxpayers with income in excess of $1 million. He also authorized the payroll deduction method of income tax withholding. This system greatly reduced the transparency of the tax. Wage earners saw the net amount of money received for their labor. Rates could be increased without most citizens realizing just how much was being withheld from their gross pay.

Relapse

Shoot! It seems that I will never pass this sensitivity training thingy. I thought I was doing well, but I had a relapse; I casually mentioned to a young woman that ‘her genes looked very good in her jeans.’ I promptly received a highly condensed semester of a “Women’s Studies” course. Sheesh! I don’t even get to interact with very many people while I’m on the road. I know, it is my fault, for forgetting that Ms Gloria Steinem and Ms Naomi Wolf contributed to a whole new generation of ’Drama Queens’.  Jeepers! It’s not like I told her to run off a 100 mimeographs and bring me my coffee! Sorry I’m so ‘last century’.

Speaking of ‘Drama Queens,’ isn’t it about time for our President to invite the ‘flash mob’ members from Chicago and Philadelphia to the Rose Garden for a racial harmony ‘Beer & BBQ’? It worked so well, when our Post-racial President instructed the officer, whom President Obama, asserted was stupidly harassing his former colleague, Professor Gates. Perhaps I missed something, he is known as ‘post-racial’, right? Or is that just another disconnect between his media supporters and reality? I should consult an expert on racism. Does anyone have Janeane Garofalo’s number?

Truth: Observations & Questions

Truth: Questions & Observations

Is truth established by its self-contained content or by the number and perceived intelligence of people who believe it?

Is intellect made more apparent by the depth of questions asked or by the number and length of statements made?

How can one reconcile: one who believes that there is no absolute right or wrong also believes that it is wrong to believe otherwise?

Is principle negotiable?

Is a philosophy based on the rational investigation of truth, principle and conduct, observed and repeated through out the course of history, undone by one’s mere personal distaste of the conclusions? If a conclusion is not possible, what is the purpose of investigation?

Truth by existence dictates false.

False fact is non-existent but false conclusions are prevalent.

Disagreement alone is not argument. Argument requires presentation.

Self-deception requires delusion.

Can truth be won by debate?

If one espouses a position that is false, does IQ or level of education elevate the validity of the position?

The level of truth that one seeks or is willing to adhere is a matter of choice based on one’s commitment to responsibility.

It is not reasonable to disregard reason.

Should not expertise be based on one’s thorough knowledge of known fact rather than one’s elaborate explanation of theory?

Does having few known facts require greater expertise to increase possible theories or does greater expertise limit possible theories?

A theory that cannot be substantiated by fact or needs a manufactured explanation of fact to gain credibility is simply another definition of imagination. PhD’s then should be offered in preschool because children are experts in imagination.

Theory is able to define the path of exploration but the result of the exploration ultimately defines the theory.

Theory is not perpetual. It cannot be perpetuated beyond a single contrary fact.

Truth supersedes theory. Theory oftentimes stumbles into truth.

It is possible to believe the theory is true before the truth is known, but impossible to believe the theory after the truth is known; it is now truth or a false theory.

Eight & Fifty

8 and 50

8 and 50 years ago I began this brief sojourn.  To the young that’s a lot, to the old not so much. 40 is the old young and 50 the young old. More fears have been quelled than developed. Light has always been brighter than darkness dark. My life painted with many hues, I noticed the muddying of the blend and viewed the zenith of each color alone.

Wondering if the brain is always turning the image passing through the lens right side up, or am I seeing with my mind’s eye? Hearing much at loud decibels requires many decibels now just to hear. I can hear loudly what wasn’t said and barely hear what was.

Traveling the broadways and the narrow, I stumbled along the path through the woods, seeking my own trail.  Joined large crowds of wrong and sought the lonely right. I made many discoveries previously discovered, amazed to know what has been known and yet disappointed my original thoughts were already thought.

Entertained by dreams in sleep, motivated by dreams I had awake. Sleep provided escapades into a limitless world. Awake provided vision to overcome limitations. The excitement of the pursuit always surpassed the frustration of unrequited fulfillment. Besides, A.D.D. creates new dreams!

I think I’m looking for that one more woman to love…but not hard.
It is tough enough to be a good man without having to exceed the men she’s known. It seems a difficult order to not exhibit the flaws she detests and recognizes quickly.  While simultaneously, possessing a greater sum of qualities than the few her memory seeks from each of her previous suitors. There’s a wide chasm to cross; for her, heartbreak does not deserve shaved legs.  For me, alone does not have to be lonely.

Since I won’t live to 116, I realize I’m somewhere beyond half way.  Unless, President Obama and the Emmanuel brothers get a hold of me, I’m going to keep dreaming and discovering, enjoying sleeping and waking on the road less traveled. Or maybe, I should start practicing my ceramics. Do ‘old age’ homes offer scholarships and have recruiting weeks?

Random Political Observations

Modern anarchists tend to band together. They seldom act without leadership.

Non-conformists tend to have a certain look or style.

Leftists desire to free people from oppression by use of a larger more intrusive government.

Current Republicans in Congress do not know the definition of republican

The people of the old Soviet Union found the truth by reading the newspaper and believing the opposite

People that believe government is the answer don’t understand the question

People who now say ‘free enterprise’ doesn’t work wouldn’t know.
They’re not old enough because it hasn’t been witnessed since 1916

The Federal Reserve is to sound money as Walt Disney is to real mice

The change created by the 2008 election is “We the government by the government and for the government…”

A democratic majority is to government restraint as Pandora is to the box

$200 million for “Science” in the current stimulus bill is wasteful spending because they already know the conclusions they’ll ‘discover’

There was a time in this country where people, who were incapable of differentiating between reality and fantasy, were institutionalized. Now we elect them to congress!

Politicians are not all the same. Though, they may have a lot of bad in common, they each attain their own level of bad through individual vigor.

It is better to view “Left” and “Right” as they pertain to the decimal point in your bank account: The policies of the ‘left’ always move your decimal point to the left.
If you expect President Obama’s administration to come up with a policy that is not: astronomically priced and underestimated, while simultaneously doomed to failure because of the false premise it is based on; you’ll have a better shot at reality by tipping your arrows with butter and expect them to be hardened by the sun!

Why History is Important!

HERE IS A QUOTE I LIKE TO HEAR A UNION HISTORY TEACHER USE AT A  S.E.I.U. RALLY

All government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public-personnel management. The very nature and purposes of government make it impossible for administrative officials to represent fully or to bind the employer in mutual discussions with government-employee organizations. The employer is the whole people . . .  President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, 1937

HERE IS SOMETHING I LIKE TO HEAR THE CURRENT WISCONSIN AFL-CIO DIRECTOR SCREAM INTO HIS MEGAPHONE!

AFL-CIO President George Meany Didn't Believe in Public Sector Unions
Feb 23, 2011 at 11:42 PM
Amy Ridenour in History, Labor Unions
When it comes to the question of public sector (government employee) unions, the granddaddy of labor leaders, George Meany, didn't believe in them.
At least, according to him.
By the time Meany wrote the following words, he had been a national labor leader for 16 years, having served as the #2 and then #1 official of the American Federation of Labor (AFL) from 1939-1955. After the AFL merged with the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) on December 5, 1955, Meany served as the AFL-CIO's president for the next 25 years.
On December 4, 1955, literally the eve of the AFL-CIO merger, the New York Times magazine published an article by Meany in which he set forth this view: "It is impossible to bargain collectively with the government." His quote in greater context:
...4) Certain business leaders may consider "big government" or socialism more of an immediate threat to their interests than communism. Are they allowing themselves to be deluded by their own propaganda to the effect that organized labor in this country is in favor of big government or the nationalization of industry?
Nothing could be further from the truth. The main function of American trade unions is collective bargaining. It is impossible to bargain collectively with the government. Unions, as well as employers, would vastly prefer to have even Government regulation of labor-management relations reduced to a minimum consistent with the protection of the public welfare...
Meany remains a revered figure in the labor union movement to this day. The AFL-CIO named the undergraduate higher education institution it created (in Silver Spring, Maryland) the "George Meany Center for Labor Studies," reachable online at georgmeany.org. The official archives of the AFL-CIO was named in honor of Meany, and the AFL-CIO named its human rights award "The George Meany-Lane Kirkland 2009 Human Rights Award" after Meany and his #2 and successor, Lane Kirkland.

An Obvious Sampler

Samples of Profoundness
As seen, heard or created by
Captain O. B. Obvious

  • A problem with youth is that there is not enough hindsight to provide foresight.

  • A man full of himself is empty.

  • When living on the edge, don’t gain weight.

  • When repeating the same mistake; try doing it differently.

  • You may be entitled to your own opinion, but not to your own facts.

  • A fool does not recognize foolishness

  • To say you can drive as good ‘stoned’ or ‘sober’ does not speak well of how good you drive sober.

  • Perspective lenses are only available in hindsight!

  • Impaired judgment is instantaneous, realization takes longer.

  • The least informed argue loudest.

  • When everyone else is the cause of your problems, you don’t need a magnifying glass to pinpoint the source; you need a mirror!

  • Adultery is not a simple sex act between two consenting adults; it is the betrayal of the one non-consenting adult.

  • Common sense is a misnomer

  • Jealousy and Greed are the same; insecurity

  • Gluttony was sin before it became a lifestyle

  • If Lindsey, Brittney or Paris have any impact on your life, your life sucks!

  • Pat yourself on the back once in a while, because there are very few others who will do it. Don’t be too hard on yourself, because there are plenty of others who will do that for you.

  • No matter where you go to find a mirror, the reflection will still be you.

  • It would be nice if you could give a hard job to a lazy man for him to find an easier way to do it. Unfortunately, due to his laziness, all he finds is a way of doing less of it.

From Way Up on the Downside
By
Captain O. B. Obvious

As it turns out; I’ve played a very significant role in my life!

OK!, ol’ wise one, I’ve got the bull by the horns…Now What?

Much of life is spent discovering what you’re not

I have been to many places that were better when leaving

What the hell kind of question is what kind of tree would I be? (Did you mix your meds?)

I have always loved: “We went from Free Love to Free Clinics!”

I may be a little hard of hearing, but, ‘ripping what you sew’ doesn’t make much sense.

LIFE, if I had it to do over again? No! The 1st time almost killed me.

Last I checked, giving 100% was all of it!

No! … Seriously, seriousness is too serious for me.

I agree with Groucho Marx; I would never be a member of a club that would have me as a member.

You are the only person who knows what you really think about what you’re thinking.

Can we please stop hiring graduates from schools that teach that the way to deal with low mass transit rider-ship is to raise fares.

The Bullet Trains in the USA will only speed up the deficit.

Who is Captain Obvious?

It is with great pleasure and some pride, as well as, embarrassment that I introduce my other self:
Captain O. B. Obvious. He is the lumpy headed persona of my mind that had to repeat the school of hard knocks twice. Finally graduating with a degree in DUH! He can be likened to a "Deer-in-the-headlights" Philosopher coming to a clear understanding about 1 second before impact! I hope you'll find his quips entertaining. They certainly are necessary for me to keep laughing.

Captain Obvious - Journalism Consultant

NEWSFLASH: Captain O.B. Obvious

Sorry about that, I had to visit Sanity last week, but I’m back.

If the democrats had even a semblance of intellectual honesty they would start campaigning to have the current president defeated. They wouldn’t even need to write new speeches; they could just substitute the name Obama for every time they said Bush.

Gather around young dems and let me teach you a new word… CREDIBILITY.

When Nancy Pelosi said on the floor of the House this week(March 30, 2011): ‘that this is an important argument for sake of our children and grandchildren because these budget deficits are getting out of hand.’
She has zero (all together now) CREDIBILITY! * but very large balls!

While I have all you young dems together, remember how you did so well chanting & ranting about Cheney & Halliburton. Try this new one… Obama & GE!

By the way if your curious about the relationship between Jeffery Immelt CEO GE and President Obama. It is ‘child abuse’!

The fool (Obama) doesn’t even know he’s being played, he has taken the ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ to new heights. He keeps appointing his tormentor to higher and more prestigious positions in his administration.

In exchange for fluff pieces and compliments as well as skewed reporting by the bought whores called news analysts on NBC & MSNBC fully owned subsidiaries of GE, here is what GE gets:

The largest corporate fine is US history reduced for continuing to do business with Iran for years after it was outlawed. (look it up) Say Cha-ching! + $millions for GE

$140 million dollars of ‘no strings attached’ TARP funds for GE Capitol (not a bank) (look it up) Say Cha-ching! By the way, how do you think Oberman, Matthews, et al got raises when their ratings are abysmal.

GE turbines in California grandfathered past the draconian EPA regulations. (look it up) Say Cha-ching! +$millions

Want to take a wild guess as to what company is going to provide the infrastructure for the medical data base implemented by Obamacare? (can you say ‘Imagination at work’?) Don’t worry the medical privacy of every person in the US will be protected and managed by the moral integrity of Jeffery Immelt & GE. (look it up) Say Cha-ching! + $100’s of millions into the $billions long term

Doesn’t it strike any one else as peculiar that President Obama can make it a point to lambaste corporate tax loop holes in the State of Union message while on his board of economic advisors sits Jeffery Immelt, head of the largest corporation GE whose tax liability is not only $0.00 but they receive a tax benefit of $3.2 billion (look it up)  Remember our new word…Credibility!

Boy, if that Jeffery Immelt was really smart, he’d claim to be a republican just to show that this wasn’t a political issue. The crème de’ la crème would be to sell MSNBC so that there wouldn’t be an issue of nonobjective reporting. (look it up)

My advise to the whores Matthews, Madow, Mitchell, Shultz and O’Donnell instead of pissing yourselves, stammering, stuttering, and stumbling trying to make your boy-king look good for doing all the things you hated about Bush. Just keep your eye on the prize and blame Immelt/REPUBLICAN!

Just curious, how is your man doing on our ‘image in the world’ improvement thingy? Fortunately for him, Jimmy Carter has launched his Spring 2011 “I am still the worst President!” World Tour.

It amazes me that these young people are so brazen in their arrogance. Corruption used to take place in back rooms with ‘under the table’ money exchanges. Now it is so open and in your face that even the New York Times sees it.

Poor Barrack, even his most loyal supporters are staggering under the weight of the crumbling façade of the delusion; that you really can go from community organizer to President of the United States.

Wow! What?

…And Jesus was a sailor when he walked upon the water
And he spent a long time watching from his lonely wooden tower
And when he knew for certain that only drowning men could see him
He said all men shall be sailors then until the sea shall free them
But he himself was broken long before the sky could open
Forsaken all most human he sank beneath your wisdom like a stone
And you want to travel with him…

Only a special few, of the many, of you approaching with me our junior geezer years will readily remember these lyrics.  If not, they are the second verse of the song  ‘Suzanne’ penned and performed by 35yr, old Canadian novelist and poet Leonard Cohen on his 1968 debut album. You can find and hear the full song at:  http://www.lyrics.com/suzanne-lyrics-leonard-cohen.html

As I remember, the common reaction to this supposed brilliance was Wow! Quickly followed by What? Of course, that was the point of being stoned. Sober listening had a lot more What? Than Wow!
If one is a free-expression artist; what/wow are career enhancers! The more you generate those reactions the larger your following = sales/income! The last I knew, Leonard Cohen was still obscurely travelling in the music industry having had a 40+ year career.

However, I stumbled upon a truth in the past few weeks. The Presidency of the United States is not the appropriate forum for free-expression artistry. Especially since only liberal democrats have access to the political pipe supplying enough of a toke to be wowed by the President. While the rest of us, reduced to ‘stems and seeds’ again, can only scratch our heads and say What? every time he speaks!

I was truly hoping that his ‘special’ announcement this week was that he was going to start raising funds for his ‘presidential library’. However, he is still high enough to believe he’s earned a second term.
His song was only good when we didn’t know what it was about. Now that we know it is nonsense; see ya!

DONNIE’S 10 Year DIVE BAR and DECADENCE TOUR

Hello   your name here   my friend,

As a privileged member of Donnie’s inner circle I am offering a ‘before it’s time’ opportunity for you to participate in my wealth.  Rather than write those 10 years off, I have economically decided to cash-in by sharing the expansiveness of my gleanings.  I am going to spin the inoculate amount of straw I gathered into gold. Yes, the sow’s ear I have been carrying for many years will finally become a really foul smelling silk purse.

You see, as a chosen participant, you will receive a life-time of befuddlement plus years of embarrassment by sharing the great dirth of wisdom that drools freely from my flaccid mind. For the paltry one time membership fee of $3,354.17 you will have first access to all of my yet to be written books. Each of these of scrolls will be signed and numbered (1) by myself or my other self Capt. O.B. Obvious.

Much to your excitement, I am already working on one! It is tentatively titled: Dive Bar Declarations or Whiskey Wisdom. Perhaps, Tavern Tenets or maybe I’ll go for the big payoff using a yellow and black cover called “Drunkedness or Drunkishnish, better yet, “Drunk for Dummies”!

Through these I can facilitude such lush pearls as seen, heard or created by Capt. Obvious:

Caution: Alcohol contains a high risk of personal embarrassment

Embarrassment is a self-righting mechanism

Getting naked is not a problem, but, being naked blurs all boundaries

And remember children… One swift stroke with the flat side of a shovel to the forehead will make an impression on the mind that even the best vocabulary will prove inadequate to provide

“The mind is the greatest sexual organ.” Ethan the Eunuch

I have the whole package baby… I’m smarter than a horse and hung like Einstein! (Wyoming Pick-up Line)

May you never hear the faux aboriginal statement… “Tohgee-yah-windea-yucca” Roughly translated; “You speak with great odor” Referring equally to breath or content

Well, lucky one, you are mere steps away from being the recipient of much more of my assidity. I promise a vast moray of this profuse profoundariousness.  I know you are asking; Is this possible for only $3,354.17?  This one-time price was derived simply by calculating my immediate financial future divided by my friends and insanely discounted by 1.369%. (Before you say anything, I know what you are thinking; “I thought he had more friends!”) Please do not misunderestimate your specialness.

If you pay immediately, you will also receive 10 photographs of me. I understand that the Recovery Act of 2009 has many of us trying to recover. So I am also extending a Multilevel Marketing Alternative: Simply convince 14 others to pay full price and your cost will be reduced to $19.99 payable in 3 easy payments of $9.99. This price only covers my H&I (Hassle & Inconvenience for you layed people)

Now for the fine print: If you haven’t notice by now the entire purpose of this nonsense was one, that I needed a good laugh and two, a personal tribute to that brightly scholastic indigenous man, Norm Crosby, who was a somewhat great influence. By the way, all monies payable in Chinese Yen, 7-11 money order or gold. Absolutely no US Treasury Notes or Federal Reserve Notes aka US Currency accepted!
